Everybody (almost) loves to eat chocolate, but many people are also passionate about cooking with chocolate. We're hoping to create a tremendous collection of chocolate recipes, but we need your help. Check out the left sidebar for information about how to send your recipe to us. In the right sidebar you can find links to the recipes that are currently available on our site. Right now they are all from older cookbooks, since we haven't yet received any recipes from our readers.

Recipes in the News

Each day, newspapers all over the world print recipes, and chocolate recipes are common among them. Some of the most interesting ones are posted here. However, we do have a few rules for quality control: we don't provide links to recipes that use margarine, cake mixes, instant pudding, or any similar products. We believe that the healthiest chocolate recipes are those that are made from scratch using whole, natural ingredients.

Historical Chocolate Recipes

Luckily for those of us who are interested in history, U.S. copyright laws are such that any texts published in the United States prior to 1923 are now in the public domain, and can be copied, re-used, and otherwise propagated without permission or penalty. Because of this, we are able to present you with this collection of historical chocolate recipes. Please note, these recipes are as close to the originals as possible, and so may look strange to the modern eye. Therefore, if you plan to make any of these old-fashioned delights, make sure you read the recipe thoroughly before beginning--some of them leave out information like oven temperature, cooking time, or even ingredients that are later called for in the instructions!
